Name: Dhauladhar Ranges (Dharamsala, India)

Description: The Dhauladhar range (3500 – 6000 meters above sea level) covers almost the whole of Himachal Pradesh state of India extending from Dalhousie to Kullu valley. This painting is a hand painted reproduction of a photograph taken by Dr. Lobsang Tsering from the monastery complex in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala. The summits of Dhauladhar range is covered in snow most of the times though the hill (Truind) shown at the distance may be snow clad in winter only, making it a favorite trekking destination for tourists as well as the locals. From Truind one will get a very good view of Ilaqua glacier. The hill shown near-by has many buildings, the most prominent of them are the Chonor house (a guest house) and Kirti monastery complex.
